speed control allows for slow start, which helps to maintain working
comfort for loosening and tightening.
TORQUE ADJUSTMENT
The setting of the torque control ring (2) to a selected position locks
the clutch to a specified amount of torque. When the set amount of
torque is reached, the overload clutch will be automatically
disconnected. This prevents from overtightening of a screw or
damaging the tool.
• Different values of torque are applied to various types of screws
and materials.
• The higher is the number corresponding to a given position, the
higher is the torque (fig. B).
• Set the torque control ring (2) to a specified amount of torque.
• The work should be started with a lower value of torque.
• The torque should be increased gradually until satisfying results
are obtained.
• Higher settings should be used to tighten screws.
• Settings marked with a drill bit symbol must be used for drilling.
The highest value of torque is obtained in this setting.
• The ability to select proper torque settings is gained along with
with practice.
The setting of the torque control ring to the drilling position
deactivates the overload clutch.
ROTATION DIRECTIONS - LEFT AND RIGHT
The direction of spindle rotations is selected by means of the
rotation direction switch (5) (fig. A).
Left rotations - set the rotation direction switch (5) in the extreme
left position.
Right rotations - set the rotation direction switch (5) in the extreme
right position.
* It is reserved that in some cases the position of the rotation direction switch in relation to rotations
may be different than described. Refer to graphic signs located on the rotation direction switch or on
the tool housing.
The direction of rotations can not be changed, when the tool
spindle rotates.
CHANGING SPEED
The speed change switch (3) (fig. C) is used to increase the rotational
speed.
Speed I: lower range of rotations, high torque
Speed II: higher range of rotations, lower torque
Depending on performed works, the speed change switch should
be set in a proper position. If the switch is hard to move, the spindle
must be rotated slightly.
The speed change switch can not be operated, when the tool
works. This could damage the tool.
Long-lasting drilling with low torque of the spindle may
overheat the motor. Periodical breaks in operation must be
taken or allow the tool to operate with maximum speed without
load for approximately 3 minutes.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Before any operations related to installation, adjustment,
repairs or maintenance are commenced, the plug of the power
cord should be disconnected from the socket.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• It is recommended to clean the tool after each use.
• Do not use water or other fluids for cleaning.
• The tool should be cleaned with a brush or blown with
compressed air of low pressure. Do not use any cleaning agents or
solvents, since they may damage plastic parts.
• Venting slots in the motor housing should be cleaned on a
regular basis not to overload the tool.
• When the commutator sparks excessively, have the condition of
motor carbon brushes checked by a qualified person.
• The tool should always be stored in a dry place and out of reach
of children.
REPLACEMENT OF THE QUICK COUPLING CHUCK
The quick coupling chuck is tightened to the spindle thread of the
electric drill driver and additionally protected with the screw.
• Open the jaws of the quick coupling chuck (1) and screw in the
clamping screw (left thread) (fig. D).
• Fasten the hexagonal key in the quick coupling chuck and
slightly tap the other end of the hexagon key.
• Loosen the quick coupling chuck.
The quick coupling chuck is installed in the reverse order to the
removal.
REPLACING THE CARBON BRUSHES
Worn (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or cracked motor carbon
brushes should be immediately replaced. Both carbon brushes
should be always replaced at the same time.
• Loosen the covers of the carbon brushes (4) (fig. E).
• Remove the worn carbon brushes.
• Remove any carbon dust using compressed air of a lower
pressure.
• Insert new carbon brushes (brushes should easily slide into the
brush holders) (fig. F)
• Fasten the covers of the carbon brushes (4).
After the carbon brushes are replaced, switch on the tool with
any load for approximately 3 minutes to make the carbon
brushes fit the motor commutator. Carbon brushes should be
replaced by a qualified person using original spare parts only.
All types of faults and defects should be eliminated by an authorised
service of the manufacturer.
