Replacing the front port
3.8.1 Replacing the front port
(FPS 7000 RA/PE/ESA/P)
1. Disconnect the inner mask.
2. Unhook the cap from the visor frame on both sides (see
figure B1-1 on the fold-out page).
3. Push the bottom part of the cap up with your thumb and
remove the cap from the fixing lugs (see figure B1-2 on
the fold-out page).
4. Pull the cap upwards to remove it from the facepiece.
5. Use a screwdriver to pry open the clamping ring, then
remove it.
6. Pull out the old front port.
7. Align a new front port with the centre marking and insert it,
ensuring that it is properly seated.
8. Align and mount a new clamping ring: Attach the hook to
ensure the tightest possible fit of the clamping ring.
Compress the nose of the clamping ring with the pliers
R 53 239 until the mask connector is securely located in
the mask body.
NOTICE
The cut-out for the front port varies depending on the
facepiece. Make sure that the following caps are used:
P or RA-type connector: cap R 56 278
PE or ESA-type connector: cap R 56 378
9. Place the cap on the front port, snap it into the fixing lugs
and hook it into the visor frame.
10. Attach the inner mask.
3.8.2 Replacing the front port (FPS 7000 RP)
1. Remove the mouthpiece if necessary.
2. Disconnect the inner mask.
3. If necessary, remove the covering cap of the drinking
valve and then remove it from the cap together with the
frame.
4. Loosen the screws (see figure F on the fold-out page) and
remove the wiper handle (see figure E-6 on the fold-out
page).
5. Unhook the cap from the visor frame, then remove it from
the front port by pulling it upwards over the drinking valve.
The drinking valve remains in the front port.
6. Swivel the drinking valve downwards by 180°, then pull it
out of the front port.
7. Use a screwdriver to pry open the clamping ring (see
figure A3-21 on the fold-out page), then remove it. Take
care that the mask body does not get damaged.
8. Pull out the old front port.
9. Align a new front port with the centre marks. Align the
wiper to the centre of the visor. The wiper must point
towards the visor.
10. Insert the front port, ensuring that it is properly seated.
11. Align and mount a new clamping ring: Attach the hook to
ensure the tightest possible fit of the clamping ring.
Compress the nose of the clamping ring with the pliers
R 53 239 until the front port is securely located in the
mask body.
12. If necessary, adjust the drinking valve.

13. Hook the cap into place on the button, place it over the
drinking valve if necessary, and then hook it into the visor
frame.
14. If necessary, pull the covering cap of the drinking valve
with the frame over the drinking valve and mount it to the
cap.
15. Mount the wiper handle, then fasten the three screws
(recommended torque: 60+5 Ncm).

16. Use Loctite
221 to secure the screw at the wiper handle.
17. If necessary, put the covering cap on the drinking valve.
18. Attach the inner mask.
19. Fit the mouthpiece if necessary.

Replacing the visor
3.9.1 Replacing the visor
(FPS 7000 RA/PE/ESA/P)
1. Unhook the cap from the visor frame on both sides (see
figure B1-1 on the fold-out page).
2. Push the bottom part of the cap up with your thumb and
remove the cap from the fixing lugs (see figure B1-2 on
the fold-out page).
3. Pull the cap upwards to remove it from the facepiece.
4. Remove the screws of the visor frame.
5. Mask/helmet combination: Remove the mask/helmet
adapter.
6. Pull the visor frame apart, tilt it towards the front and pull it
off sideways.
7. Remove the visor from the rubber frame (see figure B2 on
the fold-out page).
8. Centre the new visor when inserting and make sure that it
is properly seated in the mask body.
Moistening either the mask body or the visor frame
facilitates assembly.
Note the centre marking on the visor.
9. Apply pressure to the visor frame until it snaps into place
at the centre of the visor.
● Full face mask: Then tighten with new self-locking
screws until the gap is closed.
● Mask/helmet combination: Place the mask/helmet
adapter onto the mounted visor frame, then tighten
with new self-locking screws until the gap is closed.
10. Place the cap on the front port, snap it into the fixing lugs
and hook it into the visor frame.
3.9.2 Replacing the visor (FPS 7000 RP)
1. If necessary, remove the covering cap of the drinking
valve and then remove it from the cap together with the
frame.
2. Loosen the screws (see figure F-1 on the fold-out page)
and remove the wiper handle.
3. Unhook the cap from the visor frame, then remove it from
the front port by pulling it upwards over the drinking valve.
The drinking valve remains in the front port.
4. Remove the screws of the visor frame.
5. Mask/helmet combination: Remove the mask/helmet
adapter.
6. Pull the visor frame apart, tilt it towards the front and pull it
off sideways.
