Damage to property/material
Mains voltage must correspond with the
voltage specifications on the power tool.
Personal protective equipment.
When using this power tool wear the fol-
lowing protective items:
Protective gloves, safety goggles and ear
protection.
Handling.
Switching ON/OFF (1).
First check that the cable and plug are
not damaged.
Switching the power tool ON:
Slide switch (1) forwards (I).
Switching the power tool OFF:
Press the switch (1) down at the
back (0).
Set the oscillating frequency (2).
The speed regulator (2) can be used to set
the optimum oscillating frequency accord-
ing to the accessories used and the respec-
tive application.
Mount the hand and machine
guard (3).
The hand and machine guard (accessory,
order number 3 18 10 242 01 6) is man-
datory for work undertaken on the out-
side of buildings. It is fastened in the two
bores on the driving head using Phillips
screws.

Risk of injury
by switching the tool ON unintentionally.
Before changing the tool, pull out the mains
plug.
Always wear protective gloves.
Remove the screw (4).
The internal thread M 8 and the receptacle
of the drive shaft must be clean.
Tighten the screw (4) firmly with the
pin-type face spanner.
Torque 12 – 13 Nm.
For adopting a comfortable working posi-
tion the tool can be fastened on the drive
shaft at 30° intervals.
The sanding disc fixation on the drive shaft
is infinitely variable. The adapter is
required when working with the sanding
disc (accessory, order number
3 01 09 128 01 8).
Sharpen the cutter at the lowest fre-
quency before each application with a
sharpening stone. This also applies for
new cutters.
The cutters marked with a symbol (5)
may only be operated according to the
marking. They are not suitable for other
power tools.
