Connecting printer and DVD recorder

Lock the wheels and remove the back panel.

Ensure that the pre-routed DC power cord ( A ) is connected to the mini-dock
and that the pre-installed AC power cord ( I ) is connected to the power strip.

Connect the DVD recorder cables. See

• AC power cord ( I )
• Pre-routed composite video cable ( C )
• Pre-routed S-video cable ( B ). Attach S-video adapter ( B2 ) to extension cable
( B1 ) and to S-video cable ( B ).
• Pre-routed RS-232 cable ( E ).
• Attach DVD adapter ( G2 ) to the RS-232 connector, and attach audio
extension cables ( E1 ) to the red and white audio left/right input/output
connectors.
Note: RS-232 cable ( E ) is pre-routed through the MDSm column. You connect
one end to the mini-dock. The other end has five connectors that you connect
to the DVD recorder.

Connect system power cord ( K ) to a hospital-grade electrical outlet.

Install the back panel (vents at the top) by sliding the panel up and in.
Press the SETUP key on the ultrasound system.

Select Connectivity .

In the Printer list, select desired printer.

In the Video Mode list, select the appropriate video format: NTSC or PAL .

In the Serial Port list, select DVD .

Restart the system to activate DVD recorder connectivity.

Do one of the following:
• Use controls on the DVD recorder to start and stop recording.
• If the A or B shortcut key is programmed to record, press it to start recording.
Press it again to stop.
Each time you record, a new file saves to the DVD.
By default the B shortcut key records. To program the A and B shortcut keys,
see the ultrasound system user guide.
