Grinding metals creates sparks that can ignite
flammable materials and vapors.
• Only grind metals if the area is free of
combustible or explosive materials or vapors.
Explosions and fire can cause injury.

*These declared values were obtained by laboratory
type testing with the stated standards and are not
adequate for use in risk assessments. Values
measured in individual work places may be higher.
Values and risk of harm experienced by an individual
user are unique and depend upon the environment
and manner in which the user works, the work piece
and the workstation design, as well as upon the
exposure time and the physical condition of the user.
Snap-on disclaims liability for the consequences of
using the declared values, instead of values reflecting
the actual exposure determined in an individual risk
assessment in a work place situation over which we
have no control.
Application
The Snap-on PTGR410 Die Grinder is ideal for many
automotive and industrial high speed grinding jobs.
By using various Snap-on 1/4" grinding accessories
with a rated speed of at least 25,000 rpm, the grinder
can be used in finishing dies and metal molds,
smoothing and shaping sheet metal and cast iron,
weld finishing and other high speed polishing and
grinding applications.

Operation
Adjust power/speed regulator to achieve desired
speed. Once prepared depress the start device fully
and begin to make contact with the workpiece. From
there the individual situation should be addressed to
determine pressure required and the method for
material removal.
Air Supply
The die grinder operates best on clean, moisture free,
well lubricated air at a constant pressure of 90 psig
(620 kPa).

Piping System
2
2
The piping system should be large enough to avoid
an excessive pressure drop under maximum flow
conditions. All pipe fittings and hose outlets should
be 1/2" (12.7 mm) and should be arranged so there
are no low spots that collect water which cannot be
drained daily. Do not use an air hose less than 3/8"
(9.5 mm) inside diameter or one that is too long
because pressure drop under maximum flow
conditions could reduce performance.
√ Accessories are available for air tight connections.
The Snap-on AHC24 Quick Coupler and the AHC24M
and AHC24F adaptors are the two recommended for
use with this die grinder.
Air Compressor
The air compressor should have sufficient capacity to
deliver 3.2 CFM at 90 psig (620 kPa) at each outlet
while the tool is running. The receiver tank needs
sufficient capacity to provide surge balance for each
tool.
Filter
The Snap-on AHR414A Filter, or equivalent, should be
used to assure clean air for the die grinder. Water, dirt
and scale act as abrasives which could damage the
die grinder. A filter unit should be installed between
the compressor and air regulator and air lubricator.
