SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEDGE SHEARS
Safety warnings for hedge shears
Keep all body parts away from the blades. Do not remove cut material or hold material
to be cut when blades are moving. The blades continue to move after the power switch
has been turned off . A moment of inattention while operating the hedge shears may result in
serious personal injury.
Carry the hedge shears by the handle with the blades stopped and pay attention not
to operate any of the power switches. Proper handling of the hedge shears reduces the
risk of unintentional start-up and the risk of personal injury from the blades.
When transporting or storing the hedge shears always fi t the blade guard. Proper han-
dling of the hedge shears will reduce the risk of personal injury from the blades.
When removing jammed material or servicing the unit, make sure that all power
switches are turned off and the power cord or battery is disconnected. Unexpected
start-up of the hedge shears while clearing a jam or servicing can result in serious personal
injury.
Hold the hedge shears by the insulated surfaces only, as the blade may come into
contact with a concealed cable or power cord. Blades contacting a live wire may make
the metal parts of the hedge shears live and lead to an electric shock of the operator.
Keep all power cords and cables away from the cutting area. Power cords or cables can
be hidden in hedges or bushes and can be accidentally cut by the blade.
Do not use the hedge shears in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a
risk of lightning. This reduces the risk of lightning strikes.
