Keep your hands away from rotating tool parts. The rotating parts may, during the kickback,
come into contact with a hand.
Do not stand in the area where the tool may move as a result of kickback. The kickback will direct the tool in the opposite
direction to the direction of the abrasive disc rotation at the jamming point.
Pay special attention when working near corners, sharp edges, etc. Prevent the abrasive disc from runout and being
jammed. When machining corners or edges, there is an increased risk of the abrasive disc jam, leading to a loss of control or
tool kickback.
Do not use discs with a cutting chain or cutting discs. The blades cause frequent kickbacks and the loss of control of the tool.
Safety warnings related to sanding and cutting with abrasive discs
Use only tool-specifi c discs and guards which are designed for the type of disc in question.
The discs for which the tool is not designed cannot be properly guarded and are not safe.
The convex disc must be mounted in such a way that the grinding surface does not protrude beyond the plane of the pro-
tective fl ange of the guard. An incorrectly mounted disc which protrudes above the guard poses a risk to safety during operation.
The guard must be securely attached to the tool and positioned for maximum safety so that the smallest possible area
of the disc is exposed towards the operator. This guard helps to protect the operator from broken disc fragments and prevents
accidental contact with the disc.
The disc must be used as intended. For example, do not grind with a cutting disc. Abrasive discs for cutting are designed
for circumferential load, lateral forces applied to such a disc may cause it to disintegrate.
Always use undamaged fi xing discs, which are of the correct size adapted to the abrasive disc. The correct fi xing discs for
the abrasive discs reduce the possibility of damage to the abrasive discs. The fi xing discs for cutting discs can be diff erent from
the fi xing discs for abrasive discs.
Do not use worn abrasive discs from larger tools. A larger diameter abrasive disc is not suited for a
higher rotational speed of smaller tools and may break.
Warnings related to sanding with sandpaper
Do not use oversized sandpaper discs. When selecting a grinding wheel, follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
Sandpaper that protrudes well beyond the disc may cause injury, and also increase the risk of jamming, tearing or kickback
towards the operator.
EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION
Installing the additional handle
Always use the power fl oat with the additional handle, allowing for a secure two-hand grip and guiding the tool. The handle angle
can be adjusted to suit the type of work and the capabilities of the tool operator.
The additional handle should be put on the mounting located on the front of the tool housing; set the angle of the handle, and then
tighten the mounting screw (II). Make sure that the handle does not change its position in an unintended manner during work.
Installing the disc
The tool spindle has a shape that matches the seat in the disc (III). Place the disc on the spindle so that the spindle fi ts into the
hole in the disc. Then secure the connection with a screw (IV).
During operation, periodically check the screw tightness. The screw may tighten due to vibrations generated during operation.
Installing the accessories
The disc allows for installing accessories in two ways: with Velcro and screws.
Sandpaper (YATO YT-82334), PVC disc (YATO YT-82335), and the sponge disc (YATO YT-82337) are fi xed using Velcro. A metal
disc for fl oor fl oating (YATO YT-82333) is fi xed using the screws.
The sandpaper intended for the installation on the disc should be provided with a surface enabling it to be attached by means of
Velcro to the disc. The sandpaper should be applied concentrically to the disc and pressed lightly so that the Velcro fastens the
sandpaper disc to the disc (V).
The PVC disc and sponge disc have short sections of Velcro that match the sections of Velcro on the disc. The attachment discs
should be fi xed to the disc so that the corresponding sections of Velcro on the disc and the attachment disc connect (VI).
Set the metal disc so that the holes in the disc can be used to fi x the attachment disc. The disc must be fastened using all four
screws.
Installing the telescopic extension
The power fl oat can be used with a telescopic extension. This improves the ergonomics of use, e.g. when working on the fl oor.
The power fl oat may only be used with the YATO YT-82332 extension. The use of other extensions may pose a threat to the op-
erator and bystanders. The extension should be attached to the holes in the tool housing (VII). The extension should be mounted
