TRIPLE SHOT
Ashdown Triple Shot - Blended Drive Pedal
Bass guitar distortion is an effect that is often
compromised due to lack of control and the
Ashdown Triple Shot pedal is a step in the
right direction to ending this compromise.
In essence the Triple Shot is three individual
distortion pedals in one case.
The signal from the instrument is split into
3 distinct frequency bands and fed into 3
distortion generators. Each band has its own
level control before being recombined to
create a full signal. It is therefore possible to
distort only the mid and top bands keeping
the bass clean and tight or to distort only the
mid band for example.
The Triple Shot contains three individual
distortion pedals in one box the Dark (bass)
section works from 160Hz down, The Medium
(mids) section from 160Hz to 760 Hz and the
Light (treble) section from 760 Hz upwards.
Distortion can be individually applied to
any or all sections in any amount set by the
individual Roast (gain) controls.
USER GUIDE
The resultant signals are then recombined by a mixer
section with output level controls for each band.
In use the pedal should initially be set with all the gain
controls at zero and the level controls set equally so
that there is no change in volume when the pedal is
switched in/out.
From this initial setting using the output level controls
you can adjust the overall tone of the pedal being able
to cut or boost any of the bands thereby using the
pedal as a shape pedal with no distortion.
Distortion may be added to any or all of the bands , as
distortion is added the respective level control should
be reduced pro rata to maintain the output level.
Once the final distorted sound has been set the output
level should be compared to the bypass level and
adjusted so that there is no jump in volume when the
pedal is switched in via the momentary footswtich.
