Gateway 2000 Vivitron 500 Video Display
A fine horizontal line (wire) is visible across the screen)
This monitor uses a thin damper wire located approxi-
mately 2.5 inches up from the lower bezel edge to
stabilize the internal aperture grille. This wire is most
obvious when the monitor displays a white back-
ground. The aperture grille allows more light to pass
through to the screen for brighter colors and greater
luminescence. The damper wire is a critical part of the
overall monitor design and does not negatively affect
the monitor's function.
