Waiting 30 seconds

static electricity from
its screen surface.

Your Vivitron 500 monitor comes with a power cord; it
is important that you use this cord with your monitor
so that the monitor conforms to mandatory FCC stan-
dards. Be sure you have the correct power cord for
your home or office power supply.
After you have turned the power on for the monitor, it
is important to remember that the monitor will be
demagnetizing itself for about 5 seconds. During this
time, it is generating a strong magnetic field that can
erase or seriously affect data stored on magnetic tape
or disks located near the monitor. To avoid any prob-
lems with stored data, keep all disks and magnetic
tapes away from the monitor.
To set up the Vivitron 500:
1. Be sure the power to both the computer and moni-
tor is switched off. The Vivitron 500 power switch
is on the front of the monitor in the lower right
corner.
2. Connect the female end of the power cable to the
power receptacle on the back panel of the monitor,
and the other end to a grounded 120 or 240 VAC
outlet.
3. Connect the video signal cable to the matching
video output receptacle on the rear panel of the
computer. Secure the connection with the screws
on the connectors.
