Load-securing measures
G
WARNING
The handling characteristics of a laden vehicle are dependent on the
distribution of the vehicle's cargo. Make sure that:
the maximum load of the roof box is never exceeded, even if the
•
permissible roof load has not yet been reached.
the load is evenly distributed, and the load's center of gravity is
•
as low as possible.
pointed or sharp-edged objects are carefully padded to protect
•
the tensioning straps and the roof box.
the load is secured with all tensioning straps and cannot slip
•
during the journey.
The load could otherwise come loose while driving, e.g. when
braking, and damage the roof box.
1. Pull tensioning straps (2) through eyelets (8).
2. Load roof box (1).
3. Lay tensioning straps (2) over the load, route them through clasp (9)
and pull tight.
4. Check that the load is secure and re-tighten tensioning straps (2) as
