TESTING YOUR WALK-IN BATHTUB BEFORE INSTALLATION
All bathtubs are 100% water tested at the factory and have passed inspection. Transportation and mishandling may loosen fittings and cause leaks.
It is therefore necessary to test the bathtub while there is access to all sides of the bath.
1. This unit should be both static and operationally tested with water. It is best to test the unit outside by filling with a garden hose.
1.1. Place the bathtub on a completely flat surface in an area where it may be drained after testing.
1.2. Seal the drain hole (Use the drain plug in the part's box) and fill the bathtub with approximately 8" of water.
1.3. Verify drain plunger opens and closes freely.
1.4. Fill the bathtub to top of seat level.
1.5. Repeat 1.3.
1.6. Fill the bathtub with water to the overflow.
1.7. Repeat 1.3.
2. Allow the water to stand in bathtub for 2 hours and then inspect all plumbing and seals for leaks.
Note. Additional attention should be paid to whether there is leakage around the vertical drain.
3. If there are leaks at the vertical drain, mark the spot(s), drain and repair with GE Silicone Sealer (fiber glass to PVC). Repeat test when dry.
Check to ensure that your installation will conform to all applicable codes and secure necessary permits. All plumbing connections
should be made by qualified plumbers.
Failure to perform these tests before installation will make the installer liable for future repair costs.
PREPARTION BEFORE INSTALLATION
Make sure place you install the bathtub is strong enough to bear the total weight of bathtub, maximum water volume and the user.
Waterproofing process must be made in the place of bathtub installed, or down stair will get damaged if water leaks.
The installed place must equip with water supply and drainage:
Please reserve the drainage hole ≥ 2", make sure the drainage pipes accord with the drain kit.
User need to reserve the connector of 1/2" external thread cold/hot water hoses, which outstand the wall 1-1/2". It is suggested to install a valve in
each pipe, the location of installed should be designed by user, which is convenient for maintaining.
As each bathroom is slightly different, please place the bathtub according to the actual situation, the following illustration as reference layout.
WARNING:
Please do not place a power supply within 30" around the bathtub, so as to avoid electrical accidents caused by accidents or
misoperation.
Parts containing live parts must be inaccessible to a person in the bath.
Parts incorporating electrical components, except remote control devices, must be located or fixe so that they cannot fall into the bath.
THE BATHTUB SHALL NOT BE FITTED WITH ANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS THAT ARE NOT IN THE PACKAGE OF THIS
PRODUCT. WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ACCIDENTS OR CASUALTIES ARISING THEREFROM.
