Changing the chain
speed
The device automatically starts at the
higher­chain­speed­(21­m/s).­By­pressing­
the­High/Low­button­(27),­you­can­switch­
between­chain­speeds­(15­and­21­m/s).
The­High­or­Low­LED­of­the­chain­speed­
indicator­(25)­shows­which­chain­speed­is­
currently operating.
Checking the chain
brake
The motor cannot be turned on if the
chain brake has engaged. Do not
employ the chain brake in order to
start the chainsaw or to switch it off.
1.­ Place­the­­chainsaw­onto­a­solid,­flat­
surface. It must not contact any objects.
2.­ Ensure­that­the­chain­brake­has­been­re-
leased,­that­is,­that­the­chain­brake­lever­
(5)­is­pulled­up­against­the­front­grip­(4).
3.­ Hold­the­chainsaw­firmly­with­both­
hands,­with­the­right­hand­on­the­rear­
1)­and­the­left­hand­on­the­
handle (

4. Turn on the chainsaw.
5.­ Activate­the­chain­braking­lever­(5),­
with­running­motor,­with­the­left­hand.­
The saw chain should stop abruptly
and a warning tone sounds.
6. Once the chain brake is working prop-
erly,­release­the­on/off­switch­(
and the chain brake.
If the chain brake does not
function correctly, you must
not use the chainsaw. A slack
saw chain leads to danger of
injury. Return the chainsaw to
our Service-Center for repair.

Checking the oil automatic
system
Check the oil level and the automatic oil
system before commencement of work.
•­ Switch­on­the­chainsaw­and­hold­it­
above a bright background. The saw
must not touch the ground.
If­an­oil­trace­can­be­seen,­the­chain-
saw is working trouble-free.
If no oil trace can be seen clean the
oil passages or turn the chainsaw
to our Service-Center for repair.
Clean the oil passages of the chain
bar­(28),­in­order­to­guarantee­a­
trouble-free,­automatic­oiling­of­the­
saw chain during operation. Use
a brush or a cloth to help remove
residues from the oil outlet duct.
Changing the saw bar
1. Switch off the device and remove the

3.­ Turn­the­fastening­bolt­(11)­and­the­
screw for the chain quick-tensioning
system­(12)­in counter-clockwise
direction in order to loosen the chain
tension and to remove the sprocket
chain­wheel­cover­(13).
4.­ Remove­the­saw­bar­(4)­and­saw­chain­
(6).­To­remove­the­guide­bar­(4),­raise­
it to an angle of approx. 45 degrees.
This will make it easier to take the saw
chain­(6)­off­the­sprocket­ (20).
5. Replace the blade and install the blade
and chain as described under "Install-
ing the sawing chain and blade".
