4 Preparation for first use
4.1 General
• Check the equipment for completeness and damage. Do not use the equipment if it is damaged; in
that case contact the Holmatro dealer.
• Check whether all accessories are available.
• Make sure the pump is in a horizontal position.
4.2 Check the hydraulic oil usage
CAUTION
Use hydraulic oil with the correct specifications and make sure no dirt or dust enters the
hydraulic tank to prevent damage to the pump and tools.
• If the pump is used at temperatures above -10 °C:
1. Check the hydraulic oil level.
2. If necessary, add ISO-L HV VG 36 oil. (for VM43L: ISO-L HV VG 15 oil only)
• If the pump is used at temperatures below -10 °C:
Replace the hydraulic oil with ISO-L HV VG 15 oil because the pump is delivered with ISO-L
HV VG 36 hydraulic oil.
4.3 Check the electric motor
• Check whether the voltage and power rating of the electrical power is in accordance with that of the
motor (see specifications on the motor nameplate).
DANGER
A licensed electrician is required to replace an electrical power connector.
• Fit the correct electrical power connector, if necessary.
NOTICE
The direction of rotation is irrelevant due to the design of the pump.
