HOT DRINK DISPENSING
PREPARATION FOR HOT DRINK
DISPENSING
The espresso machine can be adjusted for three
different cup sizes, large and small, for dispens-
ing hot drinks.
Adjustment of surface for cups:
Espresso coffee cup: remove the drip tray and
turn the handle to raise the cup grid (Fig.1).

Long coffee cup: position the cup support in the
upper position. (Fig.2)
Coffee mug: remove the upper mug support, in-
sert the grid in the lower drip tray. (Fig. 3)

Raise the capsule insertion lever.

Insert the Essse Sistema Espresso capsule into
the capsule slot.

Never put fingers or objects into the
capsule slot. Only Essse Caffè Sistema
Espresso capsules may be placed in the
capsule slot.

Lower the capsule insertion lever.

Check that the machine is ready for dispens-
ing: buttons 1/2/3 should show a steady blue
color.
Press one of the dispensing buttons (2 or 3) ac-
cording to the drink size desired.
When the amount is sufficient, press the button
again to stop dispensing.
Or, it will stop automatically upon reaching the
pre-fixed drink amount.
During drink dispensing, the button selected will
blink blue.
The cup LED will gradually light up until reaching
maximum intensity.
When dispensing is complete, the buttons return
to a steady blue color and after 10 seconds the
cup LED will halve its intensity.

To modify the pre-fixed drink amount, after hav-
ing completed steps 1-4, enter into dosage pro-
gramming by pressing button 2 or 3 for four
seconds.
The button blinks amber and the machine begins
to dispense the drink.
Release the button.
When it reaches the desired amount, press the
button again to set the pre-fixed drink amount
program.
During dispensing, it is possible to go from a
short shot to a long shot and vice-versa: Press
button 2 for a short shot; if you change your
mind, press button 3 and the machine will auto-
matically go to the larger amount.
This is only possible if the initial dispensing cycle
has not yet terminated.
At the end of brewing, always open the
capsule insertion lever to unload the
used capsule. After this operation, close
the lever and always leave the capsule
insertion compartment closed.
