7. Insert two hose clamps onto the grooves of the check valve's flexible coupling, fastening the one
closest to the check valve and only loosely tightening the upper one.
8. Connect the backup check valve and the primary pump discharge using a Wye fitting.
• Tighten the backup check valve's second hose clamp.
• The primary pump discharge line must include a 3/16-inch diameter air bleed hole and its own
check valve.
• Ensure that the pump assembly rests flat within the basin.
9. Secure the pump and switch cords to the discharge line.
10. Place cover over basin.
Electrical Connections
High voltages capable of causing severe injury or death by electrical
shock are present in this unit.
• To minimize risk of electrical shock, disconnect power before working on or around the system.
• The flexible jacketed cord assembly mounted to the pump must not be modified in any way, with the exception
of shortening the cord to fit into a control panel. Any splice between the pump and the control panel must be
made within a junction box mounted outside of the basin and comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Employ a licensed electrician.

Follow the polarity markings on the pump cord and junction box.
IMPORTANT: The unit must be replaced if the power cord is damaged.
1. Connect the control switch cord terminals to the "To Float Switch" male tab terminals on the junc-
tion box.
2. Connect the backup pump terminals to the "To Pump" male tab terminals on the junction box.
3. Remove battery box cover.
