Feature description
The following products belong to the Dräger X-plore 8000
series facepieces that are described in these instructions for
use:
– Dräger X-plore 8000 face shield
– Dräger X-plore 8000 helmet with PC visor HL1
The facepieces are connected to a breathing air supply via a
hose. The air from the breathing air supply is blown through
the air circulation system to the user's face. The resulting
overpressure prevents the penetration of ambient air that may
contain contaminants. Excess air can escape through the
sealing cuff of the facepiece.
3.3
Intended use
The facepieces may only be used in the following
combinations:
Powered air-puri-
fying respirators
X-plore 8000
Dräger X-
plore 8000 face
shield
Dräger X-
plore 8000 helmet
with PC visor HL1
The facepieces protect the wearer from
– ambient air containing contaminants,
– solid and liquid particles,
– impacts.
3.4
Limitations on use
In ambient atmospheres with oxygen deficiency, the
facepieces can only be used in combination with a
compressed air hose unit, as they do not supply oxygen.
When used in combination with a powered air-purifying
respirator, the facepieces are not suitable for use in ambient
atmospheres with oxygen deficiency. Therefore, do not enter
unventilated containers, e.g. pits, ducts, etc. with the Dräger
X-plore 8000 facepieces and powered air-purifying
respirators!
The following factors can impair the protective effect of the
facepieces:
– High wind speeds and strong crosswinds.
– Earpiece or beards in the sealing cuff area.
