4.5 - Safe Pesticide Application
Steps
1- Sprayer in good state of repair:
Any and all leaks in the sprayer's spray
circuit must be eliminated, avoiding
wasting products and helping in nature
conservation.
2- Wear the appropriate personal
protection equipment:
Anyone coming into contact, direct or
indirectly, with chemicals must wear
the appropriate P.P.E.s, thus preventing
intoxications.
3- Correct choice of spray tips:
Adequate the spray tip to the flow
rate, product action mode (systemic or
contact products), target, etc. Consult
an Agronomist for this task.
4- Never try to remove obstructions
from spray tips or piping by blowing with
your mouth.
Every part of sprayers comes in contact
with chemicals and these are harmful to
health.
5- Do not contaminate water sources:
Sprayers must be replenished at
appropriate sites or using tank trucks.
Avoid capturing water directly from
rivers, lakes, dams, etc.
6- Cares with intoxications:
Do not eat, drink or smoke while
spraying and, even after this, without
the appropriate body hygiene cares.
