By slowly turning the control knob, the flame size can
be steplessly adjusted between full and low flame.
Notes
If you have large pots standing on the cooking
positions, you should ignite with a small flame.
The electronic system runs a self-test every time
the gas cooktop is switched on. The electrode
ignites and the burner ignites after a few
seconds.
The electronic system opens the supply of gas
when you switch on the gas cooktop and this
produces a brief noise. This is normal.
The appliance is not operable during a power
outage.
Electronic flame monitoring and
automatic re-ignition
For your safety, the cooktop is equipped with an
electronic flame monitoring system. The appliance re-
ignites the burner automatically if the flame goes out
during operation (e.g. through a draft of air).
If re-ignition is unsuccessful (e.g. the burner has been
soiled by overboiling), the appliance turns off the
supply of gas and an audible signal sounds.
Turn the control knob to the 0 position. Wait until the
appliance has cooled down sufficiently and then
check whether all burner parts are correctly fitted.
Check whether the burner or the electrode is soiled
(see "Troubleshooting").
Note the following when igniting the cold appliance to
a full flame:
Depending on the type of gas and gas pressure, it is
possible that the electrode ignites and then switches
off again although a flame is present. Turn the control
knob to the 0 position and then to the low flame. After
igniting, wait for 30 - 60 seconds until the burner has
warmed up. You can now use your appliance in the
manner to which you are accustomed.
Turning off
Fully turn the control knob to the 0 position on the
right. The appliance electronics closes the gas supply.

WARNING
Risk of burns
Heat builds up when the appliance cover is
closed. Let appliance cool down prior to closing
the cover. Never switch on the appliance with
the cover closed. Do not use the appliance
cover to keep food warm or as a surface for
placing objects on it.
Safety lock
For your protection, the appliance has a safety shut-off
feature. The appliance switches off after six hours if it
is not operated during this time.
Even after a power outage, the appliance stays
switched off. A prolonged audible signal is sounded.
Turn the control knob to 0. You can then operate the
appliance in the way to which you are accustomed.
