This product should not be used without a thorough understanding of all the components and their
purpose. Read this entire booklet carefully and refer to it wherever a question arises. You must also
satisfactorily complete all federal and local training requirements before entering a hazardous atmosphere.
Special attention must be paid to all the Warnings, Cautions and Notes used in this manual. Notes,
Cautions and Warnings are contained in special boxes designed to call attention to this critical informa-
tion. These special items have the following significance:
III. RESPIRATOR USE LIMITATIONS
Failure to read, understand and carefully follow these instructions
prior to using this product may result in personal injury or death.
Half mask Air-Purifying Respirators (APR) are designed, tested and government approved to provide
respiratory protection to a properly trained person in certain hazardous atmospheres. The wearer must
not enter a hazardous atmosphere that meets or exceeds the following limitations:
Maximum Use Concentrations (MUC)
a.
10 times the exposure limit (TWA) for the contaminant present.
b.
Immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH) concentrations for the contaminant.
c.
The limitations outlined in the applicable NIOSH approval:

Not for use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5 percent oxygen.
•
Not for use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health.
•
Do not exceed maximum use concentrations established by regulatory standards.
