2. Notes about safe use
2.1 Explanation of symbols
2.2 Damage in transit
After taking receipt of the delivery please check the device for damage in transit
and report any damage to the carrier within 24 hours. Under no circumstances should
you use a damaged device.
2.3 User's duties
In addition to compliance with the manufacturer's legal regulations it is the user's
duty to ensure compliance and implementation of statutory obligations at the place of
work, e.g. the obligation to provide training and compliance with the health and safety
at work act, as well as all other applicable regulations and laws.
2.4 Logbook
We recommend keeping a logbook. The logbook is used to record inspections and all
important work performed (e.g. repairs, changes).
2.5 Safety instructions
With this laboratory equipment the safety instructions concerning the protection of
individuals, handling the device and the items being processed is largely dependent
on the conduct of the persons using the device.
Before putting the device into operation, read the Working Instructions carefully and
observe the information in order to avoid errors and any damage or injury caused
thereby, especially damage to health.
With regard to setting up and operation, the respective national laws, specifi cations
and guidelines must be observed in addition to the information contained in these
Working Instructions. Work on electronic parts of the device may only be performed
by trained service companies when it is in a safe state (de-energised). Only approved
genuine spare parts and accessories may be used. The use of other parts presents
unknown risks and is prohibited.
The operational reliability and safety of the device is only guaranteed if the necessary
inspections, maintenance and repair work is performed by Heraeus Kulzer GmbH
service partners or by staff who have received training from the manufacturer.
Heraeus Kulzer GmbH accepts no liability whatsoever for any damage caused to
the device in an incident as a result of improper repair work which has not been per-
formed by Heraeus Kulzer GmbH service partners or by staff who have received
training from the manufacturer, or if for an exchange of parts no genuine spare parts
or accessories are used.
