Operating Instructions for SATA Breathing Protection Equipment
Inserting head straps into hood
shell
Information!
The front assembly flaps on the
hood shell can be locked in 2
positions (Pos. 1, Pos. 2) to ac-
commodate different head sizes.
These positions have two arrest
positions. The rear assembly
flaps have two rows each (Pos.
1, Pos. 2) for adjustment of the
angle of the breathing protection
hood.
■ Insert the front assembly flaps
at position 1 or 2 and arrest com-
pletely.
■ Fasten the rear assembly flaps
in position 1 or 2 on the hood shell
pin.
Checking seating position of
breathing protection hood
■ Put on breathing protection hood with
visor open.
■ Check adjustment of head straps,
correct as required.
■ Close visor.
Information!
The facial seal should make con-
tact over the entire contour of the
face and the field of vision should
not be impaired by the visor. If
this is not the case, readjust at
the front or rear assembly flap [8-
1], [8-3], the head strap [8-2] or
the adjustment screw [8-4].
Attaching hood cloth
■ Align the hood cloth
centering mark
center visor pin.
■ Fasten Velcro® fasteners
visor.
■ Insert hood cloth into groove at transi-
tion to visor.
■ Fasten Velcro® fasteners
breathing protection hood.
■ Thread breathing air hose through
loop in hood cloth

Before using observe/check the
following points to ensure safe op-
eration of the breathing protection
[8-3]
hood:
■ Observe all safety precautions and
hazard warnings in these operating
instructions.
■ Check compressed air operating
pressure.
■ Ensure that hood cloth is fastened
properly.
■ Ensure that hood cloth is clean and
not damaged.
■ Ensure that vision through the visor is
unimpaired.
■ Ensure that breathing air hose is
intact.
■ Ensure that breathing protection hood
is seated properly.
■ Ensure that the aluminum strip is
present at the front of the comfort
head band and is clean.
■ Ensure that the arrest for the folding
visor is functioning properly.
