Using the Push Block with the Auxiliary
Fence
(Fig. 1, Fig. 70, Fig. 71)
When the width of a rip is narrower than 2" (50 mm),
use the Auxiliary Fence 97 and Push Block 96. The
Push Stick 8 cannot be used, because the Barrier
Guard Assembly 26 will interfere.
Attach the Auxiliary Fence 97 to the Rip Fence 9
with two C-clamps.
• Before clamping, remove the Push Stick 8 from
it's storage location on the Rip Fence 9.
• Do not clamp on the Push Stick Storage Clips 62
or on the stored Flip-Over Fence 17.
• Avoid contacting the Flip-Over Fence 17 with the
C-clamp screw.
Feed the workpiece by hand until the trailing end
is approximately 1" (25 mm) from the front edge
of the Table 13. Continue to feed using the push
block on top of the auxiliary fence until the cut is
complete.

Using Auxiliary Fence as Thin
Workpiece Fence
(Fig. 1, Fig. 70, Fig. 72)
When cutting a workpiece that's 1/8" (32 mm) thick
or less, it is important to prevent the workpiece
from wedging between the Table 13 and the bot-
tom of the Rip Fence 9. Proper use of the Auxiliary
Fence 97 or the Flip-Over Fence 17 can eliminate
gaps between the Table 13 and the bottom of the
Rip Fence 9.
Use the Auxiliary Fence 97 as a thin workpiece
fence, and mount it to the Rip Fence 9 so there is
no clearance between the bottom surface of the
Auxiliary Fence 97 and the Table 13. Fig. 72 illus-
trates the correct Table 13 and Auxiliary Fence 97
position.
See the section "Using the Flip-Over Fence" on
page 48 for its use as a thin workpiece fence.
