10) Carefully plan your work in advance. Do not start cutting if
there are people or objects in the work area.
11) All interventions on the machine, other than those
indicated in this manual, must be carried out by qualified

personnel.
12) The ride-on mower is a product designed exclusively for
cutting grass. It is inadvisable to cut other types of material.
Any other usage not indicated in these instructions may
damage the machine and constitutes a serious risk to
people and property.
13) It is forbidden to hitch tools or applications that are not
specified by the manufacturer.
14) Do not use the machine without the protective cover of the
rotating blades.
15) Keep all danger and safety labels in perfect condition. If
they become damaged or worn, replace them immediately.
16) Do not utilise the machine for uses different from the ones
specified in this manual (see Prohibited uses on page 25).
17) It is the user's responsibility to evaluate the potential risks
that may arise in the area to be worked on. It is also the
user's responsibility to take all the necessary precautions
to ensure his/her safety, particularly on slopes, uneven or
slippery land and loose ground.
18) Make sure you have a firm foothold when working on
slopes. Work across slopes, never ascending or descending.
Do not use the machine on land with a gradient of more
than 10° (17 %).
19) Please note that the owner or the user is responsible for
any accidents or damage to third parties or their property.
20) When operating the machine on steep slopes, the user
must ensure that nobody is located within a 20 metre
radius of the machine.
21) The machine can be fitted with different accessories. It is
the owner's responsibility to ensure that these tools or
accessories conform to applicable European safety
regulations. Using non-certified accessories can jeopardise
your safety.
22) Do not become distracted or lose concentration during work.
WARNING
- Never use a machine with faulty safety equipment. The
machine's safety equipment must be checked and
maintained as described in this section. If your machine
fails any of these checks contact an Authorised Service
Centre to get it repaired.
- Any use of the machine not expressly envisaged in this
manual is to be considered improper and therefore a
source of risk to people and property.
2. SYMBOLS AND SAFETY WARNINGS (Fig.1-2)
1.1) Carefully read the instruction manual before using the
machine.
1.2) Warning - Remove the ignition key and read the
instructions before performing any maintenance or
repairs.
1.3) Warning! Risk of thrown objects - Do not work without
the stone-guard or grass-catcher in place.
1.4) Warning! Risk of thrown objects - Keep bystanders at a
safe distance.
1.5) Warning! Risk of machine rollover - Do not use the
machine on slopes greater than 10°.
1.6) Warning! Mutilation hazard - Make sure that bystanders
are a safe distance from the machine when the engine is
running.

4. ASSEMBLY
For shipping reasons, the machine is supplied without engine
oil or fuel. Before starting the engine, fill with oil and fuel
following the instructions given in the engine manual.
WARNING: Unpacking and completing the assembly
should be done on a flat and stable surface, with
enough space for handling the machine and its
packaging, always making use of suitable equipment.
Unpacking
When unpacking the machine, take care to recover all
individual parts and fittings, and do not damage the cutting
deck when taking the machine off the pallet. The standard
packaging contains:
- the machine;
- the steering wheel;
- the seat;
- the grass-catcher components;
- the side discharge kit (Model 13 H only);
- the mulching kit (Model 13 H only);
- the envelope containing the instruction manual, documents
and threaded fasteners; it also contains 2 ignition keys and 1
pin for locking the steering wheel.
The packaging should be disposed of in accordance with local
regulations in force.
Battery
The FAAM L12-17 battery is a hermetically sealed, valve-
regulated battery with a nominal voltage of 12 V. It is a battery
that requires no maintenance, topping up or checking of the
electrolyte level.
