Cutting and splicing tapes
The
inside
of the
black
cover
panel
®
serves аз а guide for cutting and splicing
tapes.
The cover panel can be lifted after push-
ing it towards
the tape slot. Please
use
only special
adhesive
tapes for splicing
audio tapes.
Maintenance
It is necessary to clean all the parts of
the unit that come in contact with the tape
periodically. First remove the cover panel
©. Use a soft piece of cloth, lightely
moistened with alcohol and a soft brush
or а Q-uip.
Under
по
circumstances
should metal objects ever be used. All lu-
brication points are sufficiently lubricated
for years of normal use. Never try to lubri-
cate the unit by yourself, for only special
formulas can be used. If any service is
ever required, whether on mechanical or
electrical parts, it should only be done by
a qualified serviceman
or an authorized
Dual service dealer.
The tape
The Dual TG 29 is constructed for modern
low-noise
tapes,
and
respectively
adjus-
ted. So you can obtain the best utilisation
of this first-grade tape material.
Low-noise tapes have a very low residual
noise and you can
modulate these tapes
in a higher grade
as precedentely
used
tapes. The volume range (separation bet-
ween residual noise and desired signal)
of low-noise tapes is even greater at 33%
ips. tape speed as the volume range of
precedentely used tapes at 71/ Ips.
Of course you can also use normal tapes.
