To see a long exposure, do this in a dark room or cover the Light Meter
[9]
window with
your finger. Now turn the camera towards you. Looking through the Lens [10], you should
see the Shutter
[8]
open and close. If the shutter stops working after using your camera
a lot, then change the battery. You should check the shutter every time you remove a roll
of film just to be on the safe side. Please note that the Shutter Release
[2]
and Advance
Wheel
[7]
will not work unless the Lens Cover Switch
[6]
is completely moved to the left
side (seen from front).

This little bit of manual work keeps the good ol' feeling of analogue photography intact.
First, open the Rear Door
[4]
by pulling up on the Rewind Crank
[5]
as before. Insert
your film into the left side and push the Rewind Crank
[5]
back down to lock it in place.
Pull out your film leader and place it into the slit of the Take-up Spool [11]. The little
tooth on the Take-up Spool
[11]
should grab your film leader. When everything is in place,
try to wind a little bit of the film with the Rear Door
[4]
still open, using your thumb to
lightly hold it against the take-up roll. The film should feed correctly from the roll. If it
does not, then you probably pulled out too much leader, the leader is not correctly inserted
into the take-up roll slot, or the bottom cog is not gripping the perforations. When you
have correctly taken up some film, close the Rear Door
[4]
and get ready for action. Take
a few frames to set the Exposure Counter
[12]
to "1." Also, keep a lookout – when the film
is correctly loaded, you will see the top of the Rewind Crank
[5]
turn as you advance the
film. If it's not turning, then you're not really shooting pictures and you must try to load
the film again.
