BURNER HEADS
• The surface burner headsare removable.
The cap portion
of the head is porcelain
and the port area is aluminum. Wash the
burner headsin the sink with mild deter-
gent and a plastic scrubber.
° Check to be sure all ports are open. To
open clogged ports, insert a straight pin
directly into each port. Do not enlarge or
distort the port.
• When replacing the burner heads, care-
fully align the tab on the burner basewith
the indentation in the head. The two pins
will fit in the slots when the tab is aligned
with the in-
dentation.

BURNER GRATES
• Wash with warm, soapy water and a non-
abrasive, plastic, scrubbing pad or in the
dishwasher. For stubborn soils, clean with
a soap-filled, nonabrasive, plastic pad or

• The grates are made of porcelain on cast
iron and are very durable, however, they
will gradually lose their shine and/or dis-
color.
This is due to exposure
to high
temperatures
from the gas flame.
CONTROL KNOBS
• Remove knobs in the OFF position by
• Wash, rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive
cleaning agents as they may scratch the
finish.
° Turn on each burner to be surethe knobs
have been correctly replaced.
COOKTOP-PORCELAIN
ENAMEL
Porcelain enamel is glass fused on metal and
may crack or chip with misuse. [t is acid
resistant, not acid proof. All spillovers, espe-
cially acidic or sugary spillovers, should be
wiped up immediately with a dry cloth.
• When cool, wash with soapy water, rinse
and dry.
• Never wipe offa warm or hot surface with
a damp cloth. This may cause cracking or

one of the following - Bon Ami*, Smart
Cleanser*, or
Soft Scrub* - using a damp
spongeor soft cloth. Rinse and dry. Stub-
born soils may be removed with a damp
Scotch-Brite* pad; rub evenly with the
grain. Rinse and dry. To restore luster and
remove streaks,follow with StainlessSteel
Magic Spray.
Discoloration--
Using a damp spongeor
soft cloth, wipe with Cameo StainlessSteel
Cleaner*. Rinse immediately and dry. To
remove streaks and restore luster, follow
with StainlessSteel MagicSpray.
SURFACE BURNER FALLS TO LIGHT.
° Check to be sure plug is securely inserted
into receptacle.
• Check or re-set circuit breaker. Check or
replace fuse.
• Check power supply.
• Check to be sure burner is correctly rated
for your kind of gas.
° Check to be sure burner ports or ignition
ports are not clogged.
° Check to be sure ignitor is dry and clicking.
Burner will not light if ignitor is damaged,
soiled or wet. If ignitor doesn't click, turn
control knob OFF.
" Check to be sure burner head is correctly
seated on the burner base.
SURFACE
BURNER FLAME LIFTS
OFF PORTS.
• Check to be sure a pan is sitting on the grate
above.
° Contact an authorized Jenn-Air servicer.
THE
FLAME IS UNEVEN.
• Burner ports may be clogged.
• Flame may need to be adjusted. Contact an
authorized Jenn-Air servicer.
SURFACE
BURNER
FLAME IS
YELLOW IN COLOR.
• Contact an authorized Jenn-Air servicer.
• Some yellow tips on the flame are accept-
able when using LP gas.
