5. INSTALLATION
Preliminary inspections
-
Verify that the data shown on the plate, and in particular, power, frequency, voltage, absorbed current, are
compatible with the characteristics of the electric line or current generator available. In particular, the voltage of
the line voltage can have a variance of ± 5% from the nominal voltage value on the plate.
- Verify that the protection and insulation grade indicated on the plate are compatible with the environmental
conditions.
-
Verify that the chemical/physical characteristics of the liquid to be moved correspond to those specified on
the order.
- Verify the ambient conditions: the dimensions of the well and the volume of the water shall be sufficient to
ensure the correct operation of the electric pump.
-
Verify that the electrical system corresponds to the CEI EN 60204-1 standard.
-
Verify that the pump's flow rate and head correspond to the required characteristics.
-
Before connecting the pipes to the relative openings, make sure that the rotating part of the pump turns freely
and is not hindered.
- Verify the eventual presence of materials obstructing the hydraulic pipelines of the pump; if necessary, use a
protection grid.
Installation of the electric pump
The pump can be "suspended" by means of suitable chains or ropes (fig.2) or it can be "placed" on the ground
(fig.3) L1= minimum level for continuous operation L2= level for limited operation (4-5 minutes).
The electric pumps without float shall be equipped with a device preventing the dry operation.
For the electric pumps with float, it shall be necessary to check if the surrounding space is sufficient and to
verify that there is no risk of entanglement for the cables.
Never use the electric pump in case of possible formation of dangerous gases in the well.
Electric connection
Before executing any operation, turn off the power and prevent it from being reconnected.
-The board and all relative electric equipment shall be manufactured according to CEI EN 60204-1 directives.
The installer shall verify that the plant complies with the safety rules in force.
- After verifying the data indicated on the plate, connect the terminals of the motor following the schemes
indicated in fig.6, according to the tension and to the number of phases of the feeder line.
- Connect the earthing cable.
- In case of three-phase feeding, verify that the direction of rotation of the electric pump corresponds to the one
indicated by the arrow present on the pump body. Turn off the power and rapidly reconnect and verify the
direction of rotation determined by this sudden pulse: the direction shall be anticlockwise looking at it from
above (the impeller rotates clockwise looking at it from above). While executing this operation, keep a safety
distance and work in safety conditions. In case the pump rotates in the opposite direction, reverse two phases
on the terminal board.
If necessary, extend the electric cable, which shall be of suitable quality and of sufficient section.
The connection shall be properly executed so ensuring complete insulation and impermeableness.
6. SETTING AT WORK, OPERATION AND STOP
Starting
Verify that the plant complies with all safety standards and that all devices are correctly installed and
working. Power the plant till the pump reaches its working speed.
In case the pump doesn't start, refer to paragraph 9.
Steady state inspections
After a period of time sufficient in order to reach the steady state, it shall be necessary to verify the following
conditions:
-lack of vibrations or of anomalous noises;
-lack of changes in the delivery;
-value of the absorbed current by the motor not higher than the one indicated on the plate.
In presence of one (or more) of the above mentioned conditions, it shall be necessary to stop the pump and to
find the cause.
Stop
In case of lack of the nonreturn valve, close the gate valve of the delivery pipe.
Cut off the power to the motor of the pump.
