14. The saw is now ready for use. For safe work practices, please refer to the manual.
QUICK START
1. Fill the fuel tank.
2. Fill the oil.
3. Turn on the ON/OFF button.
4. Pull the starter string out.
5. The first time you will have to pull the rope until the gasoline has passed through the system.
6. Once the engine starts, push the rope all the way in until the engine starts and is running.
IF THE ENGINE FAILS TO START
Repeat the appropriate starting procedure (hot or cold engine). If the engine does not start after
frequent attempts, the engine may be choked (too much fuel in the engine) If you suspect that
your engine is choked go to the next section "Starting a drowned engine".
STARTING A DROWNED ENGINE
ATTENTION: Improper installation of the spark plug can cause serious damage to the engine.
1. Pull the "spark plug" plug from the "spark plug".
2. Using a spark plug wrench, remove the "spark plug" (turn it counterclockwise to remove it).
3. Push the choke lever down.
4. Hold the throttle trigger fully (full throttle)
5. Pull the starter handle quickly with your right hand to eject/remove excess fuel from the
combustion chamber.
6. Clean the "spark plug" with a cloth to wipe away any excess fuel or oil deposits.
7. Reinstall the "spark plug" and tighten it firmly, squeeze it by hand plus 1/3 turn with the spark
plug wrench.
8. Repeat the WARM ENGINE starting procedure above.
9. If the engine still does not start, refer to the troubleshooting section.
Engine stop.
ATTENTION: The cut-off bar continues to rotate for a short period of time after releasing the
throttle or turning off the engine (flywheel effect).
Stop the engine by setting the switch to the "OFF" position.
FUEL
1. Clean the surface around the fuel cap to avoid contamination.
2. Slowly loosen the fuel tank cap. Place the stopper on a clean surface.
3. Pour the fuel carefully into the tank. Avoid spills.
4. Before putting the fuel cap back on, clean and inspect the gasket.
5. Immediately replace the fuel cap and tighten it by hand. Clean up any fuel spills.
CHECK AND ADJUST IDLE SPEED
Start the engine and leave it idle, for about two to three minutes, or until it warms up.
NOTE: The screws of the mixture are identified by the symbols L (low speed), H (high speed)
and T (accelerator), symbols seen on the side of the chainsaw. Do not touch the H and L screws.
1. If the cut-off bar rotates rapidly while the engine is idle, reduce the idle speed by turning the
throttle counter counterclockwise if necessary.
2. If the engine stalls, increase the idle speed by turning the throttle screw clockwise.
CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT
ATTENTION: The cutting bar may rotate when the engine is at idle speed.
