ATTENTION
• Always wear gloves when working around the blade assembly.
• Before performing any maintenance, repair or cleaning work on the unit, make sure the motor
and cutting attachment are completely stopped. Disconnect the spark plug cable before
performing maintenance or maintenance work.
• Use only original spare parts for this machine.
• Running the engine without a muffler or with a damaged muffler installed can increase engine
noise enough to cause hearing loss.
NOTE: This machine should never operate with a defective or missing spark shield or silencer.
Make sure the muffler is well secured and in good condition. A damaged silencer is a fire hazard
and can cause hearing loss.
1. Carefully remove accumulated dirt or fragments from the muffler and fuel tank. The
accumulation of dirt in these can cause an overheating of the engine, a fire or premature wear.
2. Check for loose or missing screws or components.
3. Make sure the cutting attachment is clean and firmly fastened.
4. Check the entire machine for fuel or grease leaks.
5. Make sure nuts, bolts and screws (except carburetor adjustment screws) are tightened.
6. Wipe any fragments or dirt from the blades of the hedge cutter.
7. Lubricate the blades before use and after replenishment.
8. Check that the blades are not damaged or that there is no incorrect fit.
9. Make sure the cutter attachment is firmly attached.
10. Keep the spark plug and cable connections tight and clean.
11. Clean all dirt and debris from the engine, check that the cooling flaps and air filter are not
clogged and clean them if necessary.
NOTE: Under severe machine usage conditions (high temperatures, dusty areas,...)
Shorter maintenance intervals will be required.
