PART 1. Getting Started

Perform the RESET procedure under "Before using the unit for the first time" on
page. 1, starting from step 9.

There i is probably a problem with the data in memory (data error). Note that once
data is lost it cannot be recove red. Such data e errors are atieia ne caused by one
of the following problems. °"

Hardware' 'problem. -
After a data errors discovered, you will not be sie to input or edit data. In order
to return memory to.normal (allowing further input and editing of data), you must :
perform the RESET operation to clear the memory of all.data. Before doing so,
you may want to recall important data and write it down (ifyou.don't already have |
a copy). You can then re-input the data after clearing.the memory. -
The RESET procedure you should use aa on the type of message error :

1. Make sure that NO is highlighted and then press SET. If YES is highlighted,
press ® to move the highfighting to NO and then press SET.

This causes the "CLEAR MEMORY AND SET UP: THE UNIT FOR OPERA-
TION?" message to appear on the display. .
3. Press "4 to move the highlighting to YES and then| press SET to reset the unit.

Home Time screen.

Do not press the keys with a pen, pencil or other sharp object.

The SF Unit may cause interference with radio or television reception. Keep
it away from such appliances when you are using it.

Note that pressing SHIFT and then LIGHT causes the backlight to light and
stay litas long as you continue to operate the SF Unit, or until you press LIGHT
again to turn it off manually.
Leaving the. ees on for long periods greatly reduces battery life!
About the Power Supply
The SF Unitis powered by three CR2032 lithium batteries. Replace batteries as
soon as possible after low battery power is indicated by any of the following.

Blank display when power is turned on

Dim display figures even after display contrast is adjusted
