2.0 CONNECTION AND START UP
Fig. 3 Take du tank
Fig. 4 Full tank
All the operations in this chapter are to be carried out with
the generator turned off. Push down the sliding lock I2
and move the front panel backwards (as shown with
arrow in Figure 3) to be able to access the reservoir of the
cooling unit. Unscrew the plug T1 and fill the reservoir for
the cooling liquid with 2/3 water and 1/3 anti-freeze
through the filler B1, avoiding spilling any liquid. Close the
plug T1, and push the front forwards, making the sliding
lock I2 slide one click, so as to close the front panel per-
fectly.
Insert the plug S1 (Fig. 2) into the socket D1 of the gene-
rator.
Insert the connector J4 (Fig. 2) into the connector J4 of the
generator, making sure that the locking ring nut is com-
pletely screwed up.
If a water-cooled TIG torch is to be used, connect up the
water pipes for the TIG torch into the couplings A1 and
A2 (Fig.1), making sure that they are well tightened up to
prevent any water leakage. If the WF103, wire-pulling
trolley for MIG/MAG welding is used, and the liquid-
cooled torch, connect up the water pipes of the cable
bundle into the couplings A3 and A4 (Fig. 2), making sure
that they also are tightened up well.
In the case where one of the pairs of water couplings, A1-
A2 or A3-A4, is not used, a by-pass must be carried out,
with a pipe and two fast-joining couplers.
8
Make sure, in this case too, that it is well tightened up.
To make the best use of the cooling unit, it is strongly
recommended to have only one torch connected. Only
after having carried out all the operations in this chapter,
and ensured that the couplings and fast-joining couplers
are properly fastened, turn on the generator with the
switch I1 located on the front control panel.
3.0 MAINTENANCE
The working conditions must be taken into consideration
for the maintenance of the cooling unit, checking perio-
dically:
- the quantity of liquid in the reservoir (2/3 water and 1/3
anti-freeze);
- the condition of the power-driven pump;
- the state of the pipe couplings;
- the state of the electrical connections.
Every six months, change the cooling liquid and wash out
the tubes and reservoir with water. Change the liquid in
the case where it should boil, since it would loose its pro-
tective metallic properties.
The equipment must not be used without
cooling liquid.
