BEFORE YOU BEGIN
S Observe local plumbing
codes.
S Leave the packaging
material in place until you
begin actual installation.
S Be sure you have sufficient
access to move the module
into the construction area.
S Avoid flexing the side walls
to prevent damage to the
module.
S Insulate all exterior walls
before installation.
S When fire-rated wall is
specified, the stud opening
dimensions are to the
inside of the wallboard.
S If the module will be
installed adjacent to
vertical ducts or chases,
surround the unit with
fire-rated gypsum
wallboard.
S The basin area requires no
additional support when
the subfloor is level and
square with respect to the
stud framing. Consider
using shims for additional
support if the subfloor is
uneven.

S Protect the module floor
during installation.
S Consult all applicable
instructions for accessories and
shower doors before beginning
this installation.
S Provide access to all plumbing
connections. This is a one-piece
module, and you cannot make
the drain and overflow
connections by reaching over
the end of the module.
S Position the rough drain
plumbing according to the
roughing-in dimensions.
S This product is designed for
use with a Kohler steam
generator. Four models
(K-1652, K-1657, K-1658,
K-1659) are available based on
module size. Kohler shall not
be responsible for problems
encountered due to the
installation and use of other
manufacturer's steam
generators.
S Position the plumbing as
required according to the
fitting manufacturer's
instructions.
S Connect the valving to the
water supplies, and check for
leaks before installing the
module.
