To warm up the transmission in cold weather
Note:
Before you use the product in cold weather,
warm up the transmission.
1. Put the product on a level surface.
2. Release the parking brake and slowly let the brake
pedal move up slowly.
3. Let the transmission warm up for one minute. This
can be done during the engine warm up period.
4. After the transmission is warm, the attached
equipment can be used in the engine warm up
period. To do this it can be necessary to pull the
choke control out a small step.
To start the engine when the battery is weak
WARNING:
make explosive gases. Keep sparks, flames
and smoking materials away from batteries.
Always wear eye protection when around
batteries.
If the battery is too weak to start the engine, it must be
charged.
If the jumper cables are used for emergency starting,
follow the procedures below:

1. Connect one end of the RED cable to the POSITIVE
(+) terminal of each battery (B-C).
CAUTION:
circuit does not occur against the
chassis of the product.
2. Connect one end of the BLACK cable to the
NEGATIVE (-) terminal (D) of a fully charged battery.
3. Connect the other end of the BLACK cable (A) to
good chassis ground, away from the fuel tank and
battery.
4. Remove the BLACK cable from the chassis when
the weak battery is fully charged.
5. Remove the BLACK cable from the fully charged
battery.
6. Remove the RED cable from the two batteries.

Note:
Remove the jumper cables in the opposite
sequence to how you connect them.
1. Remove the BLACK cable from the chassis.
2. Remove the BLACK cable from the fully charged
battery.
3. Remove the RED cable from the 2 batteries.
To set the cutting deck in transport
position or mow position
The cutting deck must be in transport position during
transportation.
•
To set the product in transport position, pull the
cutting height lever in the direction of the seat and
put it in the highest cutting height position.
•
To set the product in mow position, set the correct
cutting height. Refer to
page 14 .
To set the cutting height

Pull the lift lever in the direction of the seat and put it
in 1 of the notches for the correct cutting height.
To move forward and rearward
The direction and speed of movement is controlled by
the forward and reverse drive pedals.
1. Start the engine.
2. Disengage the parking brake. Refer to
and disengage the parking brake on page 15 .
