Do not install this unit in a poorly ventilated area, or in locations exposed to high
humidity or direct sunlight (or strong artificial light).
VENTILATION CAUTION
When installing this unit, make sure to leave space around the unit for ventilation to
improve heat radiation (at least 5 cm at rear, and 5 cm at each side).
CAUTION
The u switch on this unit will not completely shut off all power from the AC outlet. Since
the power cord serves as the main disconnect device for the unit, you will need to
unplug it from the AC outlet to shut down all power. Therefore, make sure the unit has
been installed so that the power cord can be easily unplugged from the AC outlet in
case of an accident. To avoid fire hazard, the power cord should also be unplugged
from the AC outlet when left unused for a long period of time (for example, when on
vacation).

POWER-CORD CAUTION
Handle the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by tugging the cord and
never touch the power cord when your hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit
or electric shock. Do not place the unit, a piece of furniture, etc., on the power cord, or
pinch the cord. Never make a knot in the cord or tie it with other cords. The power
cords should be routed such that they are not likely to be stepped on. A damaged
power cord can cause a fire or give you an electrical shock. Check the power cord once
in a while. When you find it damaged, ask your nearest service center or your dealer for
a replacement.
• This unit should not be used by persons who have heart pacemakers installed, since
adverse effects could occur.
• Do not use this unit in hospitals or clinics, or near medical equipment.
• Do not use inside airplanes or in the vicinity of automatic doors to avoid danger of
causing malfunctions.

Do not use, store, or leave the product in a high-temperature location such as near fire,
in a location exposed to direct sunlight, or in a car on a hot day. Do not use, store, or
leave the product in a location that reaches extremely low temperatures. There is a risk
of leakage or rupture of the built-in rechargeable battery or heat generation, which may
result in fire, injury, or damage to the surroundings. If the battery leaks or emits a strange
smell, immediately move it away from any fire.
DANGER
If liquid has leaked from the built-in rechargeable battery, do not touch the liquid with
your bare hands. Liquid may remain inside the main unit, so please contact our inquiry
desk. If the liquid gets into the eyes, it could cause loss of vision, so immediately wash
the eyes with sufficient clean water, such as tap water, without rubbing your eyes, and
immediately obtain medical treatment from a doctor. If the liquid adheres to the body or
clothing, it could cause burns or injury, so immediately wash it off with clean water, and if
the skin shows symptoms of inflammation or injury, consult with a doctor.

• When using this product for the first time, be sure to charge it for one hour or more
before turning on the power.
• To avoid low-temperature burns, do not remain in prolonged contact with

PRECAUTIONS REGARDING SAFETY WHEN CHARGING
Be sure to comply with the following cautionary items in order to avoid major injury or

• This product has a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery.
• If the USB plug or the power supply plug are inserted while wet, a short circuit could
occur due to the liquid (tap water, seawater, soft drinks, etc.) or foreign matter
adhering to the main unit or the charging cable, which could cause abnormal

overheating or a malfunction. Do not under any circumstances insert the USB plug or
the power supply plug while the main unit or the charging cable are wet.

• In places where the surrounding temperature is extremely high, stop charging for
safety. Also, charging may stop, even if charging is continued for a long time. Charge
once again in the recommended charging temperature range after pulling out and

reinserting the power adapter.
• The temperature of this product may increase during charging or when used for a
long period of time, but this is not a malfunction.
• If the product is not used for a long time, charge the battery until the battery level is
around 50% once every six months to prevent degradation of the built-in
rechargeable battery.
• If the time that the product can be used becomes very short, there is a possibility that
the service life of the built-in rechargeable battery has expired.
