Preparation (See II and III)
1
Check that all parts are present.
⌦
II. 1. Connect the intake strainer to the intake pipe.
2. Cut a piece of hose (min. 1.5 cm) from the enclosed hose and use it to connect the outlet bend to the nozzle
pipe.
3. Close the end of the nozzle pipe with the plug.
4. Connect the clamp and the suction cup and clip them (2x each) onto the suction and nozzle pipes.
5. Cut 2 more pieces of hose each approx. 5- 10 cm from the hose and connect one piece of hose each to a
double tap. To secure the hose connection, screw the union nut over the hose.
6. Connect the power supply unit to the mains cable.
⌦
III. 1. Open all 4 clamps and remove the pump head from the filter canister.
2. take out the filter insert by the handle and open the cover by turning it to the left.
3. Take out all the filter mats and rinse them gently under running water.
4. Place the filter media back into the filter insert as shown in Figure 4.1: ⓐ 5 blue foam mats, ⓑ white cotton
wool fleece, ⓒ black carbon fleece as the top layer, and close the lid.
Figure 4.2 (optional): ⓐ EHEIM MECH, EHEIM MECHpro or EHEIM bioMECH, ⓑ 1 foam mat blue, ⓒ EHEIM
SUBSTRAT or EHEIM SUBSTRATpro ⓓ fine filter pad, ⓔ carbon fleece black as top layer.
The carbon fleece is used to adsorb possible dissolved pollutants in the water when setting up a new aqua-
rium. aquarium. After a running-in period of approx. 2 - 4 weeks, charcoal fleece should be removed.
5. Put the pump head back on the filter container.
Make sure that the sealing ring is correctly positioned in its guide and is not damaged or dirty.
6. Lock all 4 clamping brackets.
6.
Installation
⌦
A
Place the filter under the aquarium - at least the pump head must be at least 10 cm below the aquarium
water level.
• When choosing a location for the unit, pay attention to the installation height. In order to achieve opti-
mum functional reliability, there must be a maximum of 180 cm between the water surface and the bottom
of the filter.
• Always operate the filter in an upright position.
⌦
B
Mount the nozzle tube by pressing it firmly against a side window.
⌦
C
Place the nozzle pipe so that it is approx. 1 cm below the water surface and the nozzles are aligned parallel
to the surface.
⌦
D
Fix the suction pipe in the rear corner of the same side window with the suction cups.
⌦
E
Connect the double tap A to the hose connection (suction side) on the filter container and the double tap
B to the hose connection on the pump head.
⌦
F
1. Connect the double tap on the suction side (on the filter tank) to the suction pipe and the double tap on
the pressure side (on the pump head) to the nozzle pipe.
2. Secure all hose connections with the union nuts.
