USING THE COLLEGE PARK GUARDIAN KNEE
The College Park Guardian knee has two functional modes. Before you begin using the knee, your prosthetist will
determine the setting that is most appropriate for you and will activate that mode.
Stance Control Mode - Knee operates normally
Locking Mode - Knee will not flex until the dual function lever is pulled
USING THE MANUAL LOCK FEATURE
If the locking mode has been activated, there will be a dual function lever attached to your prosthesis so you can control
when it should be locked or unlocked.
Locked Position
Standing/Walking:
The knee will not flex
Lock Release Position
Pull upward on the lever only half-way, without passing the detents. Releasing the lever will return
it to the locked position.
Unlocked Position
Deactivates the lock function temporarily:
Pull upward on the lever all the way, passing the detents. There will be a "click" sound and feeling. Push down
on the lever to return to the locked position.
TO SIT DOWN
1.
Pull upward on the dual function lever to allow the knee to flex.
2.
If the "toe load" feature is enabled: You must shift your weight forward slightly while also pulling upward on the lever.
