Warning!
• Ensure regular and proper maintenance of
your tool
• Stop operation of the tool immediately if ex-
cessive vibration occurs!
• Unsuitable bits and cutters can cause exces-
sive vibration and noises. Only use suitable
bits and cutters!
• Take breaks if necessary when working with
the device!
6 Commissioning and operation
Caution!
Before cleaning, adjusting, service or repair,
disconnect the mains plug!
Always ensure your own safety! Despite its
compact size, the WAS/E cylinder sander is an
electric tool that harbours a certain level of risk.
The sanding and satin-fi nishing tools supplied with your WAS/E cylinder sander include

7 Working with the device
Attention: Danger!
• Never work without dust protection mask and
safety glasses. Some dusts have a hazardous
effect! Materials containing asbestos may not
be machined!
• Do ensure that the sanding or satin-fi nishing
tool is in a fault-free condition and is neither
worn nor damaged. Worn or damaged san-
ding/satin-fi nishing tools may result in parts
breaking off and fl ying about. This could re-
sult in injuries.
For coarse sanding work, surface cleaning and removing
paint residues
For fi ne sanding work e.g. sanding -down paintwork,
preparing surface treatment
For satin-fi nishing surfaces and preparing surface treatment
Fitting the sanding or satin-finishing tool
(Fig. 2)
1. Slacken and unscrew Countersunk screw 2.
At the same time, press Lock button 1 to
stop Shaft 4 also being unscrewed.
2. Fully slide Sanding or satin-fi nishing cy-
linder 3 with the labelled side onto Output
shaft 4.
3. Then screw Countersunk screw 2 into the
front shaft end and sensitively tighten. At
the same time, press Lock button 1 to stop
the shaft from also turning.
• Ensure the work piece is fi xed securely! Loo-
se work pieces should be clamped in a sui-
table fi xture. This prevents the work pieces
from fl ying about.
Please Note:
• A correct and uniform speed achieves a high
performance, not excessive contact pressu-
re! Excessive pressure is to be avoided: it
only stresses the device and can even dama-
ge the bits and cutters!
