Preparing to measure blood pressure

How to wear the cuff
Open cuff into a ring shape and pull onto your upper arm
until the lower cuff edge lies 2-3 cm (1 inch) above the
elbow. The cuff is positioned correctly if the special mar-
king is located directly on the artery. The metal ring must
never come to lie on the artery as this may cause a false
reading.
Most persons have a higher blood pressure on their left
arm. Therefore the measurement should be taken on
the left arm. If the blood pressure is higher on the right
arm, the measurement should be taken on the right
arm.
Pull the end of the cuff, which has been fed through the
metal bracket, and wrap it round your upper arm. By
pressing down lightly the cuff will be secured in position
by the Velcro fastener.
The cuff should not be too tight; it should be possible to
place two fingers between your arm and the cuff.
Note on cuff size:
The unit must only be used in combination with the
following cuffs:

than 2 minutes. If a problem occurs you can remove the
cuff at any time by simply releasing the Velcro fastening.
