It is also possible to use the cabinet without
mechanical exhaust air. However, it is important to
note the following:
•
The cabinet must be connected to earth to
prevent electrostatic charging (see section on
earthing).
•
There is a zone 1 explosive area inside the
cabinet.
•
There is a zone 2 explosive area within a radius
of 2.5 m around the cabinet and up to 0.5 m
above the floor. This area must be marked in
accordance with the Accident Prevention Regu-
lations (BGV A8):

In general, the national rules, laws and regula-
tions must also be observed here.

Important!
A mechanical ventilation system is man-
datory for the storage of highly flammable
liquids (H224).
•
In mechanically ventilated work rooms with
at least five air changes per hour, the zone 2
explosive area can be reduced to 1 m in front of
the safety cabinet and 0.5 m at the side of the
safety cabinet and to a height of 0.3 m above
the floor.

ceiling; see accessories for the order number. The
