Always replace all the batteries at the same time. Only use batteries from the same man-
ufacturer and which have the same capacity.
Close the cover of the battery adapter (18) so that it clicks into place.
To insert the battery adapter, push the battery adapter (18) into the battery bay (22)
until you feel it engage.
When operating with non-rechargeable batteries, energy saving mode is switched on as
standard. To end energy saving mode, press the button for energy saving mode (1).
To remove the battery adapter (18), press the release button (17) on the battery ad-
apter and pull the battery adapter out of the battery bay (22).
Take the batteries out of the measuring tool when you are not using it for a pro-
u
longed period of time. The batteries can corrode and self-discharge during pro-
longed storage in the measuring tool.
Energy Saving Mode
To save energy, you can reduce the brightness of the laser lines. For this, press the but-
ton for energy saving mode (1). The energy saving mode is indicated by the button for
energy saving mode lighting up. To end energy saving mode, press the button for energy
saving mode (1) again so that it goes out.
When operating with non-rechargeable batteries, energy saving mode is switched on
automatically.
Battery Charge Indicator on the Measuring Tool
The battery charge indicator (7) shows the current state of charge of the rechargeable
battery/non-rechargeable batteries when the measuring tool is switched on.
If the rechargeable battery or non-rechargeable batteries are running low, the laser lines
will gradually become dimmer.
If the rechargeable battery/non-rechargeable batteries are almost empty, the battery
charge indicator (7) will flash continuously. The laser lines will flash for 5 seconds every
5 minutes.
If the rechargeable battery/non-rechargeable batteries are empty, the laser lines and the
battery charge indicator (7) will flash one last time before the measuring tool switches
off.
Battery Charge Indicator on the 18 V Rechargeable Battery
If the rechargeable battery is removed from the measuring tool, its state of charge may
be indicated by the green LEDs of the battery charge indicator on the battery.
