Sterilisation
Sterilisation for clinical or hospital use is the responsibility of the facility performing the sterili-
sation and must be carried out according to the instructions in this manual.
The sterilisation procedure described in this section is only effective on treated components
if all the points are adhered to and only if the components to be treated are sanitised before-
hand, and is validated in accordance with ISO 17665-1.
Equipment: Steam steriliser with fractionated vacuum and overpressure compliant with EN
13060.
Execution: Package each individual component to be treated in sterile barrier system or pack-
aging in accordance with EN 11607. Place the packaged components in the steam steriliser.
Perform the sterilisation cycle in accordance with the instructions for use of the equipment
and select a temperature of 121°C and a time of 20 minutes.
Storage: Store the sterilised components according to the instructions for use of the system
or sterile barrier packaging chosen.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CLEANING the spray chamber
In order to prevent deposits from clogging the atomiser and spray chamber and there-
by affecting the function of the nasal douche, it is recommended to carry out cleaning and
sanitising after each use, following the instructions in the user manual supplied with the nasal
douche. After thoroughly rinsing the parts under lukewarm tap water, shake them to remove
any remaining drops of water. Then place the parts on a paper towel or dry them with a jet
of hot air. ATTENTION: If your nasal douche does not atomise correctly after cleaning and
sanitising, do not use sharp tools (e.g. screwdrivers, scissors, needles, hairpins, etc.) to try to
clean or unclog the holes in the atomiser or spray chamber, as this may damage these parts
and impair the proper functioning of the unit. Instead, perform additional cleaning and saniti-
sation cycles as described in the instruction manual and recommended above, until the nasal
douche starts working properly again.
