ERA REGENERATOR
manual
regenerator efficient. It shall be replaced every 6 months or
each time it is too dirty.
It is advisable to not use the regenerator when the filter
is too dirty or when the cartridge is not mounted.
We herein propose instructions for cartridge replacement:
1. Close the infeed water tap.
2. Loose the screw on top of the filter so as to release pres-
sure (fig. 6, F).
3. Unscrew the threaded locking ring by using the supplied
wrench (fig. 6, I, H).
4. Pull out the cartridge to be replaced (fig. 6, M).
5. Rinse the filter glass-housing as well as its gasket (fig. 6,
G, L).
6. Install the new filter cartridge (fig. 6, M).
7. Install the new components in the right position.
8. Gently open the water tap.
9. Release air by using the screw (fig. 6, F). Once the water
filter is full, tighten the screw.
10. Fully open the water tap.
11) HOW TO READ SETTINGS ON THE DISPLAY
+
Keep pressed the
key for some seconds up until you read
the following information: "CYCLE COUNT".
Each time the
+
is kept pressed, the following information
will be displayed:
+
completed regeneration cycle count

• LED LIGHTS
The led light changes color accoridng to the ERA gearcase
status. The different status are proposed herein:

12) EQUIPMENT DISPOSAL
As to equipment disconnection, please carry out the steps illu-
strated in chapter 9.1. Disposal of waste material shall comply
with regulation in force. The equipment is manufactured by
using non-hazardous material – mainly polymers, stainless
steel, electric and electronic components – that shall be di-
sposed according to regulation in force.
Resin shall not be disposed in household wastewater sewage.
Resins are not biodegradable and shall be treated as non-ha-
zardous special waste (CER 190905 code).
13) ALARM LIST ON DISPLAY
• INSUFFICIENT PRESSURE:
The pressure switch is not detecting the needed level of pres-
sure in order to start a regeneration cycle. Check that the
infeed water tap is open.
• EJECTOR MAINTENANCE (Par. 10.2 e fig.5, H):
300 regeneration cycles have been executed and it is now
necessary to check and clean the ejector.
• PISTON MAINTENANCE (Par. 10.3 e fig.5, E):
600 regeneration cycles have been carried out and repla-
cement of the piston O-ring on the SHUT-ON valve is now

14) TROUBLESHOOTING
• THE DISPLAY DOES NOT SWITCH ON:
- Check that power supply is on (fig. 1, E – 3, D)
- Check the fuse (fig. 12).
• THE REGENERATION CYCLE IS TOO LONG:
- Check the settings, check the model and the number of
connected cylinders (see par. 6.2 and TAB. 1).
- Check the extra-rinse parameter.
• THE BRINE SUCTION STEP IS NOT CARRIED OUT (it will
trigger a salt alarm)
- Check pipe pressure; it shall be at least 2 bars.
- Check that pipes are not clogged or sqeezed.
- Clean the ejector (fig. 5, H) (see par. 10.2).
- Make sure that the gearcase pipes are correctly installed
(fig. 3, F, G, H).
- Make sure that the drain pipe is not clogged (fig. 1, N).
• AFTER A REGENERATION CYCLE WATER IN THE "ER"
CYLINDER IS NOT SOFTENED
- Check that pipe pressure is at least 2 bars.
- Check that the display is not showing the "INSUFFICIENT
PRESSURE" message (see chapter 13 : "ALARM LIST ON
DISPLAY".
- Check salt presence in brine (fig. 1, D).
- Check that water level in the brine tank decreases during
steps 2 and 4, and that it actually increases during step 7.
- Check that water level in the brine tank decreases
during steps 2 and 4, and that it actually increases
during step 7.
(the actual regeneration step is displayed during the regene-
ration cycle).
• ERROR 1 or CHECK SENSOR CARD
- The position magnet at the end of the rotating shaft is not
detected by the sensors located on the sensor card (fig. 5,
U).
- Disinstall the ERA gearside as illustrated in chap. 10.3 up to
item 3 included.
- Check that the sensor cable is correctly installed (fig. 5,
X), also check that the magnet is present (fig. 5, T) in the
turning screw.
- Connect the connector to the power supply.
- Keep pressed for some seconds the
a regeneration cycle. Make sure that when the magnet is
close to the sensor the corresponding led light gets on (par.
6.1) (fig. 5, V).
- If one or more led lights do not work, you shall replace the
sensor card.
• ERROR 2
- The timer has not been able to read all the settings. For
data recovery, disconnect the timer power connector and
plug it back in.
• REPLACE BATTERY
- You have to replace the battery
As to replacement, see fig. 12. Shut down power, Remove
the card-cover piece and replace the battery. Put power
back on and check settings.
