SEWING ON A BUTTON
Settings: -Presser foot - Button fitting foot (O).
-Feed dog control
Push the lever in the direction of the arrow to drop the
feed dog, Attach button fitting foot (O).
Position your fabric and button under the presser foot.
Lower presser foot. Turn the handwheel to make sure
needle clears both left and right openings of button.
Adjust width if required. Sew 10 stitches across.
When attaching four-hole buttons, first sew the two
holes closest to you. Then, slide the button so that the
needle goes into the two holes toward the rear of the
sewing machine, and then sew them in the same way.
Helpful Hint: T o secure thread pull both threads to the
backside of the fabric and tie together.
DECORATIVE AND STRETCH STITCHES
Settings:
Presser foot - General Purpose Foot or Satin
-
Stitch Foot (Z).
-Thread tension control – 4.
Stretch stitches are mainly for use on knit or stretchable
fabrics, but can also be used on woven materials.
Straight stretch stitch
Straight stretch stitch is far stronger than an ordinary
straight stitch because it locks three times - forwards,
backwards and forwards.
It is particularly suitable for reinforcing the seams of
sportswear in stretch and non-stretch fabrics, and for
curved seams which take a lot of strain.
Use this stitch also to top-stitch lapels, collars and cuffs
to give a professional finish to your garments.
PREGAR UM BOTÃO
Ajuste: -Pé-calcador para pregar botões (O).
-Dentes impelentes ocultos
Empurre a alavanca na direcção da seta para esconder
os dentes impelentes. Coloque o pé-calcador (O)
Coloque o tecido e o botão sob o pé-calcador. Baixe-o
e mova o volante para assegurar que a agulha se
move da esquerda para a direita introduzindo-se
correctamente nos dois orifícios do botão. Ajustar a
largura, se necessário, e costure 10 pontos de um lado
para o outro.
Quando quiser pregar um botão de 4 orifícios, cosa
primeiro os dois orifícios que se encontram mais
próximos de si. Em seguida, faça deslizar o botão para a
frente e cosa os outros dois da mesma forma.
Conselho útil: Para garantir a costura, passe as 2
linhas para a parte de trás do tecido e remate-as.
PONTOS ELÁSTICOS E DECORATIVOS
Ajuste:
Pé-calcador de uso geral ou para pontos de
-
cetim (Z)
-Tensão da linha na posição 4.
O ponto elástico é usado, principalmente, em malhas
e tecidos elásticos mas, também, pode ser usado sobre
qualquer outro tipo de tecido.
Ponto elástico a direito
O ponto elástico a direito é mais forte do que qualquer
outro pois cose em 3 tempos, para a frente, para trás e,
novamente, para a frente.
É particularmente recomendado para reforçar costuras
de roupa desportiva, elásticas ou não, assim como para
costuras curvas com muita tensão.
Use também este ponto em lapelas, golas e punhos
para dar um toque mais profissional aos acabamentos
do vestuário.
