Slide the battery pack into the charger until it is
fully seated

To remove the battery pack, slide the battery
backward out of the charger.

Important:
The battery can be left on the charger
for short periods between uses.
If the battery will not be used for longer periods,
remove the battery from the charger; refer to
Storage (page
25).
Cleaning Under the
Machine
Service Interval: After each use
WARNING
A broken or missing washout fitting could
expose you and others to thrown objects or
blade contact. Contact with a blade or thrown
debris can cause injury or death.
• Replace a broken or missing washout
fitting immediately, before using the
machine again.
• Never put your hands or feet under the
machine or through openings in the
machine.

Move the machine to a level surface.
2.
Shut off the machine and wait for all moving
parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3.
Lower the machine to its lowest cutting-height
setting. Refer to
(page
13).
4.
Attach a hose to the washout fitting, and turn the
water on high
(Figure
20).

Note:
Spread petroleum jelly on the washout
fitting O-ring to make the coupling slide on
easier and protect the O-ring.

Start the machine, engage the blade-control
lever, and let the machine run for 1 to 3 minutes
with the blades turning.
6.
Disengage the blade-control lever, shut off the
machine, and wait for all moving parts to stop.
7.
Shut off the water and remove the coupling from
the washout fitting.
Note:
If the machine is not clean after a single
washing, soak it and let it stand for 30 minutes.
Then repeat the process.
8.
Run the machine again and engage the blades
for 1 to 3 minutes to remove the excess water.
