Saw blades with fi ne teeth and low
number of strokes
• The jig saw can be easily guided by hand. In
the interest of clean saw cuts and optimum
sawing performance, make sure the feed
is adjusted to suit the material. The basic
principle here is: the harder the material, the
slower the feed!
• When sawing metals, a small amount of oil
should be applied to the cutting line.
• Thin sheet steel should be appropriately
clamped to a fi xed supporting surface (e.g.
plywood board): This minimises and prevents
vibrations and fl exing.
• When making inside cuts, drill a suffi ciently
large hole in the work piece being machined
in order to insert the saw blade.
• The parallel limit stop can also be used for
curved cuts. To do so, fasten a nail in the cen-
tre of the circle and use it as a pivot for the
limit stop. The scale for curved cuts is on the
underside of the stop rail.
6 Maintenance, cleaning and care
Caution!
Remove the battery from device before any
assembly, adjustment, maintenance measu-
re or repair!
Every tool is contaminated by dust or chips
while working. Cleaning is therefore essential.
To ensure a long service life, however, the ma-
chine should be cleaned with a soft cloth or
brush after each use.
Mild soap or other suitable cleaning agent may
be used in this context. Solvents or cleaning
agents containing alcohol (e.g. petrol, cleaning
alcohols etc.) should be avoided, since these
can attack plastic casings.
Always keep the apertures required for cooling
the motor free of dust and dirt.
Tip:Regularly apply a few drops of motor oil
(Fig. 7) to the piston and the support rollers af-
ter approx. 30 minutes of operating time.
