Operation Manual R60073.0009 - 03
Coded band orientation and condition
Ensure proper coded band orientation. This is important for the good
operation of the sensor.
• Important: Also pay imperatively attention to the side orientation of
the holes. A marking showing the proper orientation can be found
on the type plate of the sensor.
• Do not remove the type plate at the beginning of the coded band,
which shows the "top end" for the installation orientation of the
coded band.
Coded bands without such label may not be used.
• Make sure during elevator downwards travel that there is no dirt or
foreign bodies on the coded band.
Coded band type plate (392 m)
If you prepare the 392 m [1286 ft] coded band yourself, document the
respective length on the follow-up form with a waterproof pen.
On the remaining coded tape, mark the new band start in the
appropriate direction and the respective length with one of the
provided type plates
Safety assessment of the fastening
The customers can manufacture the components for mounting/
fastening the coded band 8.LEX.BA.xxxx and the sensor LES02 in
compliance with the parameters specified by Kübler.
The customer is responsible for the implementation and the
compliance with the parameters and for the approval by a
certification authority. The mounting kit 8.LES.MK.xxxx meets the
specified parameters. It has been tested within the framework of the
certification and released by the certification body.
We recommend the use of Kübler components, as these have been
qualified and tested together within the framework of product
development.
The following parameters must be complied with for the coded band
fastening and documented for the certification:
• The nominal pretension of the coded band must be 150 N.
• The coded band must be secured against swinging up.
• Min. securing element breaking force 8.3 kN (cp. scope of
delivery).
• The fastening for the coded band must be designed in accordance
with the safety guidelines of the competent inspection authority.
• Separable connections such as screws must be secured against
loosening.
