4. Installation

WARNING: Make sure that the speaker is
installed in a stable and secure way in
order to avoid any conditions that may be
dangerous for persons or structures.
Check to make sure that the support surface (e.g.
wall, etc.) has the necessary mechanical characteri-
stics to support the weight of the speaker without the
danger of it falling.
Before suspending the speaker, carefully check all
the components to be used to make sure that there is
no damage, deformation, corrosion and/or missing or
damaged parts that could reduce the safety of the
installation.
In outdoor use, avoid installing the speaker in pla-
ces exposed to harsh weather conditions.
1. Attach the bracket supplied with the speaker to
the structure selected (e.g. wall), making sure to
align the three attachment holes on the horizontal
plane, as shown in Figure 1 on page 22.
WARNING: Always use support ele-
ments suitable for the material of the
wall that will support the speaker
(e.g. screw anchors for bricks, screw anchors for
cement, etc.).
2. Make the electrical connections as described in
the section below.
3. Hang the speaker on the bracket previously instal-
led using slot A A or B B (fig. 2, page 22) located on
the back of the speaker. If various speakers are
being installed in the same space aligned on the
horizontal plane, we recommend fitting the

3 on page 22, as this will guarantee that all the
speakers are "in phase" to ensure correct audio
reproduction.

5. Connections

WARNING: To prevent the risk of electric
shock, do not connect the speaker with
the amplifier switched on.
Before using the speaker, carefully check that all
the connections have been made correctly to make
sure there are no accidental short circuits that could
cause electrical sparks.

Selecting the input voltage

The C C S S B B / / 1 1 T T - - N N speaker is designed for use with
constant voltage audio lines at 5 5 0 0 V V or 1 1 0 0 0 0 V V , a a n n d d i i s s

To configure the speaker for 5 5 0 0 V V lines, proceed as
follows.
1. Open the speaker by loosening the four screws on
the corners, in order to access the incorporated
line transformer.
2. Using a low power soldering iron for soft solde-
ring, disconnect the R R E E D D conductor from the tran-
sformer terminal marked 1 1 0 0 0 0 V V .
3. Solder the conductor previously disconnected to
the transformer terminal marked 5 5 0 0 V V (fig. 4, page
23).

Connecting the audio line

VERY IMPORTANT: To prevent damaging
the speaker, before connecting it make
sure that the voltage of the audio line cor-
responds to the input voltage of the speaker (100V
standard).
When making the connections, keep the following
indications in mind (fig. 5, page 23).
• The input voltage selected on the speaker m m u u s s t t

f f i i e e r r . .
• • The sum of the operating nominal power values
of all the speakers connected to the audio line must
not exceed that of the amplifier.
The connections with the audio line are made
using the R R E E D D and B B L L A A C C K K input conductors, that lead
from the back of the speaker.
WARNING: Always use standard termi-
nals for making connections.
1. Connect the R R E E D D conductor of the speaker to the
positive conductor ( ( + + ) ) of the audio line (fig. 4,
page 23).
2. Connect the B B L L A A C C K K conductor of the speaker to
the negative conductor ( ( – – ) ) of the audio line, which
leads from the amplifier terminal marked – – , , 0 0 or
C C O O M M (fig. 4).
To ensure correct audio reproduction, t t h h e e c c o o n n n n e e c c - -
t t i i o o n n s s s s h h o o u u l l d d b b e e m m a a d d e e " " i i n n p p h h a a s s e e " " , , where the + + / / – –
polarities of the amplifier output correspond with the
+ + / / – – polarities of the speaker input.
A CLOSER LOOK: When two speakers
reproduce the same frequencies but with
phase differences, these frequencies may
be annulled. In sound systems, speakers are often
situated in adjacent positions and the sound waves
produced interact with each other. If a speaker is con-
nected incorrectly; i.e. the polarity of the audio line
conductors is inverted, the audio signals are tran-
smitted with differences in phase and correct repro-
duction is therefore jeopardized.
