The X-am 5x00 is supplied via the X-zone 5500 battery.
If the activated X-am 5x00 is removed from the
X-zone 5500, the device will exit X-zone mode after max.
10 seconds.
3.1.4
X-am 5x00 Info mode
In measuring mode, press the
approx. 3 seconds.
Press the
key successively for the next display. The

peak values and the exposition values TWA and STEV as
well as additional X-zone information will be displayed.
If there are warnings or faults, the corresponding notes or
error codes (e.g. 01) are displayed (see chapter 11.1 on
page 68).

1 Station number in grouping mode:
The station number uniquely identifies a group device
within a group.
2 Wireless status: ON/OFF:
Indicates whether the wireless function of the X-zone 5500
is switched on or off.
The wireless function can be switched on and off using the
Dräger CC-Vision PC software (see chapter on page 64).
3 Network number:
If independent wireless networks are required, different
network numbers must be assigned (see chapter 4 on
page 48).
The network number can be set using the Dräger CC-
Vision PC software (see chapter on page 64).
4 Group ID:
The group ID uniquely identifies a group (only the last 4
characters of the group ID are displayed).
5 X-zone mode symbol:
Indicates whether or not there is an IR connection between
the X-zone 5500 and the X-am 5x00.
If no key is pressed for 10 seconds, the X-am 5x00 returns
automatically to measuring mode.

Switching off the device

CAUTION
!
When switching off the X-zone 5500, Dräger
recommends wearing hearing protection or using the
alarm-attenuation ring (order no. 83 20 110) since the
acoustic alarm is activated briefly.
3.2.1
STANDBY mode
Switch off the X-am 5x00 in the X-zone 5500 in accordance
with the Instructions for Use.
The visual and the audible alarm will be activated briefly
before the X-zone 5500 switches off.
The X-zone 5500 is in STANDBY mode.
3.2.2
OFF mode
1. Press the
hold down for approx. 3 seconds.
The battery LED goes off.
The X-zone 5500 is off (OFF mode).
2. If applicable, remove the X-am 5x00 from the calibration
cradle.

Power supply for the X-am 5x00 with
NiMH battery in the X-zone 5500

The X-am 5x00 is never charged in the X-zone 5500
due to the explosion protection requirements. The
battery of the X-am 5x00 is discharged to about 1% of
its capacity. Only then will the X-am 5x00 be supplied
with electricity by the X-zone 5500.
Operating the X-zone 5500 with an X-am 5x00, which
is equipped with alkaline batteries, is not possible and

results in an error.
