7. TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM
1. With the key on «ON», the light
stays off
2. With the ignition key turned to
«START» the light flashes and
the starter motor does not run
3. With the key on «START» the
light comes on but the starter
motor does not run
4. With the ignition key turned to
«START» the starter motor runs
but the engine does not start
5. Starting is difficult or the engine
runs erratically
6. Weak engine performance
during cutting
7. The engine stops while working
and the lamp flashes
8. The engine stops and the light
goes off
9. The engine stops but the light
stays on
10. The cutting means do not
engage or do not stop promptly
when they are disengaged
LIKELY CAUSE
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
– badly connected battery
– battery terminals crossed
– badly earthed
– flat battery
– blown fuse
– wet circuit board
– starting conditions have not
been met
– insufficiently charged battery
– battery charger fuse blown
– malfunction on the starter relay
– insufficiently charged battery
– faulty fuel supply
– faulty ignition
– faulty carburetion
– forward speed too high in relation
to cutting height

SOLUTION
Turn the ignition key to the «STOP»
position and look for the cause of
the problem:
– check connections (see 3.2)
– check connections (see 3.2)

– recharge the battery (see 6.3.3)
– replace the fuse (10 A) (see 6.4.4)
– dry using luke warm air
– check that all starting conditions
are met (see 5.2.a)
